Construction of hydroponic systems in Azraq Camp (2022-2023):
The Royal Scientific Society has completed a project to support and establish the hydroponic farming systems in Azraq Camp, with funding from CARE International, in which hydroponic systems were built in four community centers in the camp. Training on hydroponics was provided to a group of volunteers in the camp, in addition to other training for a group of employees working in the agricultural sector and agricultural vocational training.

“Enhancing food security through urban farming systems in Jordan” project:
RSS completed a project about “Enhancing food security through urban farming systems in Jordan” in 2021, with funding from the Harper Adams University, UK. The project aimed to increase the resilience of poor urban communities through the experience of local vertical farming and hydroponics on rooftops in Jordan. The project was implemented on the rooftop of the (Musa Al Saket Cultural Center) building in the city of Salt, and on the rooftop of a house in Ashrafieh- Amman.

Local community training in Mafraq on hydroponics:
The Royal Scientific Society team trained 20 trainees from the local community in Mafraq on soilless and hydroponic farming systems in August 2022.

Hydroponics Training using Virtual Reality Technology:
The vertical farming unit was designed by the Royal Scientific Society in cooperation with the expert in LED vertical farming lighting, Dr. Hail Rayhan, from the University of Plymouth, UK. It was also installed by two local companies specialized in indoor hydroponic farming technologies (iPlant and Green On). Successfully growing basil, onions and kale in addition to saffron bulbs in this unit.
